Annatto Seeds grow in the tropics and have a natural yellow color. Its color comes from compounds called cartonoids, which are pigments that are found in the seed’s outer layer and many other fruits and vegetables, such as carrots and tomatoes. They are loaded with Vitamins C, B’s, and E. Annatto Seeds contain wonderful amounts of antioxidants which are thought to help protect the skin from environmental free radical damage. A wonderful natural colourant. Annatto powdered extract can be used as a natural soap colourant. In cold process soap making, it will produce beautiful orange to yellow tones.
