Production: The peel of the ripe fruit is removed and then dried and cut. It is believed that the sweet orange originates in China and now is cultivated in virtually every country across the globe with most of the current production coming from Florida, California, and parts of the Mediterranean.

Qualities: Surprisingly, the peel of the orange contains substantially more enzymes, flavonoids, and phytonutrients than the fruit itself. Orange is known for providing the body with vitamin C and A and for relieving congestion and respiratory distress.
Common Use: Orange peel adds a lovely tart sweetness to tea blends. It can also be powdered to add to cold drinks or used in cosmetics, household cleaners, or in jams, jellies, or stir-fries.
