Abeego Food Wrap Natural eco Free Shipping Canada

Abeego

In 2008 I invented Abeego, the original beeswax wrap on two founding principles. Firstly, it’s logical. It breathes. If living food needed to be wrapped in airtight wrap the rind, peel or skin would be airtight. It’s not. Secondly, it’s inspirational. It looks good, feels good, smells good and fosters a healthier relationship with food. The best part? We’ve inspired others to take part in the beeswax food wrap movement -and what an honour it’s been to pave the way! Welcome to the future of food wrap.

Keep food alive.

Aisle

Aisle

You don’t always realize when you’re about to change the world, but in 1993, Madeleine Shaw did just that when she began making the first line of cloth pads and period underwear.

In 1999 she met Suzanne Siemens and together they co-founded Lunapads, a groundbreaking venture that was one of the first brands in the world to champion natural menstrual care.

Fast forward to today, Aisle has come full cycle to redefine the period aisle for the 21st century. A place to find comfortable, high-performance, earth-friendly products that actually walk the talk.

Our small but mighty team is dedicated to supporting better periods for every body.

We believe you’ll find our innovative, planet-friendly materials offer superior comfort and performance, along with peace of mind that everything we sell is ethically sourced and made. Nothing matters to us more than respectfully meeting your needs - we guarantee it.

All Things Jill

At All Things Jill, personal body care is Personal. When it comes to our products, we look to Mother Nature for inspiration and advice. She knows how to soothe dry skin, calm our senses, and revive our souls using only natural sources. That’s why we search the globe to find the most luxurious and desirable organic oils, salts, butters, clays and herbs to help relax, restore and rejuvenate the mind and the body.

Many companies talk about natural and organic products. At All Things Jill we don’t just talk about it, we live it.

Our Mission Statement should tell you the rest…

  • We recognize that human beings are now at a critical turning point relative to our planet, and in order to move towards a sustainable future, viable alternatives must be created.
  • We believe that the wholeness of our company derives in part from the integration of our coworkers through communication, participation of customer feedback in the growth process, and the acceptance of responsibility by all.

  • We pledge to conduct our business in an environmentally aware manner, emphasizing reuse and recycling, the use of natural and organic ingredients, and the application of appropriate technology.

All Things Jill™ has grown from a hobby begun to satisfy requests for Christmas gifts into a distinctive boutique Canadian company providing exceptional and unique natural and organic personal body care products to more than 100 retailers across Canada.

Originally from Erin, Ontario, Jill grew up your typical entrepreneur; she was the kid with the lemonade stand in the driveway, always wanted to play “store” and at one point when she was 7 or 8 was going to build her empire via rug hooking. She also began to dabble in soaps and bath salts at a young age, fascinated by how the ingredients would come together to make a certain product. Fast forward quite a few years and Jill now holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from McMaster University, has taught students of all ages, and also worked in Marketing, Advertising and Corporate training for a large Canadian Insurance company.

Aloha Collection

ALOHA COLLECTION WAS BORN OUT OF A LOVE OF TRAVEL, ADVENTURE, AND THE OCEAN.

In 2009, a vacant room and a Craigslist ad brought two friends together.

Years later, a twist of fate brought them back together again. In 2013, Rachael, broken (literally broken foot and broke from not being able to fly), and Heather, who found herself in a volatile real estate market, were both dreaming of something bigger.

ALOHA Collection started with a single bag, a shared dream, and a Kickstarter campaign. With $2000 each, a bit of magic, and a handshake, ALOHA Collection was on its way. Since the launch of ALOHA Collection, Rachael and Heather have not only created a thriving business, they have built an international ʻOhana.

Our Ingredients

If you want the most nutrient-rich, results-driven skincare, then you need to start with the purest, cleanest ingredients.

Antipodes has been doing that since day one, reaching into our own pristine New Zealand backyard for premium, skin-enhancing ingredients that are sustainably sourced and grown in the fertile, pollution-free air of the Southern Hemisphere’s orchards and vineyards.

Our natural skin products are carefully made, responsibly sourced and deliver scientifically validated results thanks to meticulous innovation and ingredient selection.

Aventura

When we first began our mission in 2006, 18% of our clothing was made with organic cotton. Since then, we’ve expanded our sustainable fabric selection to allow for even richer and softer fabrics throughout our collections. Today, over 75% of our styles use lower impact or sustainable materials.

We are proud to work with Fair Trade USA, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable livelihoods for farmers and workers; protects fragile ecosystems; and builds strong, transparent supply chains through independent, third-party certification.

For every Fair Trade Certified™ product sold, we pay an additional premium directly back to the workers who make our clothes. Collectively, they vote on how to spend the funds on projects that address local needs so that their families and children can thrive for generations to come.

Back To School

Everything you need to make the best litterless lunches and snacks, and the little things your littles might need in their backpacks.

Bamboo Switch

Bamboo Switch is an Eco Lifestyle brand that encourages people to “make the switch” to a zero-waste life. Our products are thoughtfully designed for utility and beauty. We believe that your eco journey starts small and grows. We are not here to preach or shame but to educate and share.

The eco journey is for everyone, not just the privileged or elite. We source our bamboo and all materials ethically and we price fairly so that EVERYONE can make a difference.

Our products are for every day, every room and everyone you care about.

THE FOUNDERS

We are parents who want better for the generation we are raising and beyond. Our journey started from the realization that a beach should not be filled with litter and washed up plastic waste. That walk led us to find products to start our eco journey. Others were limited and not trustworthy. So, with heart and determination we did better for our family, your family and every family.

A zero-waste life is our ultimate goal. Sustainability is the foundation of Bamboo Switch. We choose to see the beauty in the world while recognizing the sometimes-sad consequences when we choose convenience over zero waste. Please join us on our journey and let us walk with you on yours.

Baraka Basket

Baraka Basket

BARAKA BOLGA BASKETS are hand made by community-based women’s groups in northern Ghana. Using age-old traditional weaving methods and supported by modern training, quality control and microcredit facilities, the women gather together in groups to make baskets to earn extra income to support their children and families.

Traditional & Fair-Trade. They are Hand Made in small communities, far away from the fashions and retail outlets that so many of us take for granted, people have learned over hundreds of years to be resourceful and creative. And you would be hard-pushed to find a more striking and valued example than the Bolga Basket.

Designed to work hard and still look beautiful, these baskets are like all the very best inventions - simple yet incredibly effective, both as convenience tools and objects to admire in their own right.

Bkind

Bkind

KIND [Be-kind] : Being respectful and thoughtful of everything around us.

At BKIND, our mission is and always will be to be kind to everything that surrounds us. As a growing company, one of the big challenges we must deal with is to be eco-friendly throughout our operations. We are always working on new ways to be kind to our planet and reduce our waste production!
100% RECYCLABLE PACKAGINGS
Because we ship our products worldwide, we have no other choice but to choose resistant jars. That’s why we use 100% recyclable plastic, and when it’s possible, paper or cardboard. Also, our facial rollers come in a little box filled of plantable confettis (compostable) to assure protection during shipping!
Many of you ask us why we don’t use glass jars: first, we made this decision because we don’t want to overwrap your products when shipped. Recyclable plastic is a better choice for us because it’s hard to break during shipping. Also, glass is more expensive: we don’t want you to overpay for packaging!
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION
BKIND also believes in responsible consumption: we use fair trade coffee for the composition of certain products. This coffee comes from the Montreal-based company Café Rico: Established in the Plateau-Mont-Royal for over ten years, Café Rico is the first 100% fair trade and organic coffee brewery in Quebec.

ECO-FRIENDLY ACCESSORIES
Over the years, we have put on the market a range of bamboo accessories, a fully compostable material. This resource is very easy to regrow after harvest, even in the poorest soils, making it a renewable resource and making our accessories greener.

Blue Canoe

Laurie Dunlap began Blue Canoe in 1994 with a clear vision—to create organic clothing made in the USA that would fit the way women really lived. As a women-owned and run company, we knew what our customers were looking for—it was what we wanted for ourselves.
We focused on effortlessly stylish and versatile designs in high-quality fabrics that feel good next to your skin. We combined functional with beautiful. We believed women should be able to dress once and go through the day. Our customers agreed. And the line and the business grew.
Today Blue Canoe is thriving in San Francisco where we manufacture a full line of timeless, eco-friendly clothing and lingerie. We remain committed to using the finest fabrics, manufacturing from start to finish in the USA, and designing for the real world with simple lines, sensuous fabrics and sophisticated styles that are never fussy.

Natural fibers, natural comfort, natural beauty. Organic cotton and organic bamboo are the hallmark of Blue Canoe—the heart of everything we do. Simply put, they’re good for the world.

Our cotton and bamboo are grown without harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Then, only the most gentle, nontoxic dyes are used. So plants, animals and people are protected. The result? Fabrics that are inherently soft, fluid and breathable, even in the warmest weather.

You will feel good wearing Blue Canoe and feel good choosing Blue Canoe.

Bamboo is the ultimate sustainable crop. It’s very fast growing, and renewable. It requires no pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation. It causes no soil erosion and reduces runoff. Bamboo can yield 20 times more fiber than trees and regenerates without plowing or replanting. It can be grown on soil that is damaged by overgrazing. Bamboo produces 30% more oxygen than trees thereby reducing carbon dioxide that causes global warming.

Like rayons from other sources, bamboo has to be chemically processed to break down the fiber.

Tencel is a rayon from managed tree farms. Although chemically processed, the chemicals are recycled and re-used, limiting chemicals in the waste stream.

Blue Canoe is following progress on these fibers closely in line with our mission of using the most environmental fabrics available.

Blue Planet Eyewear

Blue Planet Eyewear

Nowadays, it is commonplace for production factories to simply dispose of excess materials. These materials contribute to the ever increasing landfills, eventually leading to toxins and carbon dioxide being released into our atmosphere and waterways; speeding up climate change and rendering our ever reducing clean water resources more deeply diminished. Since our establishment in 2009, we as a company oppose this kind of destructive cycle. By re-using the excess materials to create new eyewear, it creates a remarkably more durable, lightweight and comfortable frame. We have also incorporated other natural materials such as bamboo, Walnut, Beechwood and Zebra Wood. Incorporating our Eco-Process™ method to our frames has saved 1000’s of lbs of excess materials from going into our landfills and oceans.

Products designed to tackle the world's most challenging problems

Sunglasses and readers have undoubtedly become more of a fashion statement for the style conscious, but they are undeniably a necessity when it comes to seeing more clearly and protecting eyes from the sun, as well as the elements. Unfortunately, most are manufactured with materials such as plastic, metal and paint that leave behind large deposits of waste—often toxic—which contribute to a growing global crisis. According to the website, The World Counts, every year a colossal 2.12 billion tons of waste is dumped in landfills and the world's oceans. If put on trucks, this waste would wrap around the world 24 times. Though statistics like this are alarming, they are also becoming more transparent as a new generation of companies like Blue Planet Eyewear emerge to tackle some of the planet's most challenging problems. Building a thriving business around a mission to relieve the burden of waste, as well as help those who are visually impaired, Blue Planet Eyewear pushes the boundaries of change with fun and affordable products that have more than one purpose.

The Bamboo + Wood Sun collection is crafted from natural bamboo or wood, recycled and reclaimed plastics and metals and polarized lenses on select styles. Standard polarized lenses provide 100 percent UVA/UVB protection. Offering reflective or anti-reflective lens coatings, all styles are packaged in Blue Planet Eyewear’s signature drawstring case.

The eye-popping frames of the Blue Planet Eyewear Bamboo Readers collection are repurposed with natural bamboo or wood, with stainless steel spring hinges for a comfort fit, and finished with recycled and reclaimed plastics and metals. The optical-quality lenses include anti-reflective coatings and sun tint on select styles, many of which are BPA free. All styles are packaged in Blue Planet's signature drawstring case

OVER HALF A MILLION PAIRS OF CORRECTIVE GLASSES DONATED

Blue Planet Eyewear believes every person is entitled to the gift of sight, yet it's estimated that 285 million people—19 million children—are visually impaired worldwide.

According to experts, approximately 80 percent of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured by the right eyewear. That's why Blue Planet Eyewear is committed to doing the right thing.

FOR EVERY PAIR OF BLUE PLANET EYEWEAR SOLD, WE WILL DONATE A PAIR OF CORRECTIVE GLASSES TO A PERSON IN NEED

Through its Visualize Change program, which donates one pair of corrective glasses for every frame purchased, Blue Planet Eyewear is proud to partner with renowned humanitarian organizations such as SEE International, Feed the Children, Direct Relief, and Best Day Foundation to provide support to men, women and children around the world who are struggling with vision impairment.

Body Wash and Hydration

With your skin being your largest organ, and it absorbing what youput on it within 30 seconds, it's smart to choose organic products like the ones you'll find in this collection. With fair trade and organic ingredients, you'll love the skin you're in even more.

Boody

We design everyday essentials to last. That means we only invest in quality fabrics and we only design with simplicity and function in mind. Bamboo viscose is highly breathable, comfy and soft; making it perfect for garments that sit close to the skin like underwear, socks and everyday basics.

The story begins with the bamboo. Made using organic toxin-free bamboo plants, the original bamboo Boody Eco Wear uses is sustainable and requires much less water than cotton plants. Even our box is recycled and printed with vegetable-based ink!

1.  GROW

The original bamboo is grown without fertilizers or pesticides and no irrigation, only rain water.

Boody Bamboo Harvest

2. HARVEST

First, the green shoots are cut into chunks of raw bamboo.

Boody is Organically Grown Bamboo

3. PROCESS

Next, the bamboo is soaked in a solution to soften it. The system is closed loop - all liquid is recycled and all solvents are captured and removed to ensure that they are entirely contained and do not enter waterways.

Boody Dry Bamboo Fiber

4. DEHYDRATE

The dehydration process allows us to extract the bamboo pulp that is then dried into flat sheets.

Boody Raw Milled Fiber

5.  GRIND

When the bamboo sheets are completely dry, they are ground into a soft, feathery material.

Boody Organic Bamboo Yarn

6. SEW

The soft, feathery material is then extruded and spun into a viscose yarn that we use to knit our garments. The garments are knitted in tubes resulting in very little fabric wastage compared to traditional cut and sew garment manufacturing which wastes up to 20% more fabric

Caboo

Caboo

Caboo Non-GMO Bamboo and Sugar Cane Pulp Toilet Paper Zero Waste Chilliwack

Uses fast-growing grasses, not trees
Because bamboo and sugarcane are grasses rather than hardwoods, they both grow very quickly and, after harvest, grow back just as quickly – in as little as three to four months (trees can take up to 30 years to grow). No replanting is necessary – unlike trees, which never grow back after being cut down. About 83 million rolls of toilet paper are produced from trees each day.

Kind on the environment
Switching to Caboo can help save rainforests, water, and wildlife, and can make a real impact on reversing climate change. Bamboo can grow in environments with depleted soil and little water and actually returns nutrients to the soil, which improves degraded areas. Bamboo also doesn’t require fertilizers, insecticides or pesticides. An added and very important benefit is that Caboo paper is made from bamboo species that are not food sources for pandas.

Makes use of renewable resources
Sugarcane is much like bamboo, with an added environmental bonus. The “bagasse” – the dry fibrous residue that remains after the extraction of juice from the crushed stalks – is what we use to make our paper.  Normally this bagasse is either disposed of or burned, which means that we are repurposing what would otherwise be discarded. Talk about renewable!

The sustainable alternative
Switching to Caboo paper can help youmove toward a more sustainable lifestyle. In fact it’s probably one of the easiest things you can do to help the environment in your daily life. If you operate a business, switching to Caboo paper can contribute toward your company’s sustainability goals.

More eco-friendly than recycled paper
Recycling or processing a tree into tissue can take much more water and energy than the minimal processing necessary to turn bamboo and sugarcane into paper. BPA can also be found in recycled tissue after deinking and cleaning recycled paper. Caboo’s sugarcane and bamboo paper is 100% BPA free.

Softer and stronger than recycled paper
Unlike recycled bath tissue, which can be rough or thin, Caboo’s sugarcane and bamboo fibres produce a much softer product than recycled paper. And it’s strong, too – bamboo’s natural qualities make a paper that’s been tested to be stronger than recycled tissue of the same weight.

100% biodegradable
Caboo is 100% biodegradable because its fibres quickly dissolve back into the earth – making it safe for all disposal systems.

Coco Village

It all started in 2018 with visionary parents. The founders of Coco Village found themselves faced with a lack in the market as they searched for something that didn't yet exist in America: minimalist and accessible children's toys and furniture.

It was the spark they needed to push the idea even further! From a new and local company to a globally recognized brand, Coco Village is positioning itself as a pillar in its industry by offering simple, gender-neutral and affordable children's items.

The use of noble materials and the conceptualization of sustainable products is a priority for the company, which places respect for the environment at the heart of its activities in order to offer a better future to future generations.

Credobags

Credobags

We believe that an easy first step is to adopt a “bag habit ”: routinely carry a reusable bag or two with you, rather than use plastic or paper bags provided by retailers.

To promote this shift in habit, our founder and president, Judy Lazar, tapped into her 20 years of apparel manufacturing experience to fulfill a vision that would embody her credo.

The line includes the first North American-made reusable mesh produce bag. This innovation provides a long overdue eco-wise alternative to those tear-off-the-roll plastic film bags that grocery stores and farmers’ markets provide for bagging fruits and vegetables.

At Credo Bags, we actively seek out the most sustainable fabrics – such as organic and recycled cotton, hemp and organic linen– so that we can continue to improve our bags, and keep improving them, until they leave the smallest possible “carbon footprint”.

And our commitment to doing what’s right doesn’t end there.

We are dedicated to being socially responsible in all aspects of our business. We support the domestic economy by manufacturing our bags in Canada. In conjunction with textile factories, we develop the fabrics with which those bags are made. This enables us to monitor our production from start to finish overseeing the environmental impact of production, and the authenticity of raw materials. We do everything we can to ensure that the bags we sell meet the highest ethical and quality standards.

Dans Le Sac

Dans Le Sac

Two 20-something friends, one freelancing as a yoga teacher, photographer, artist and painter, the other studying education at university and passionate about the environment, health and food/cooking.

One day, Stéphanie (the yoga teacher) suggested to Laurie (the "professional student") that they start making bread bags. Laurie was already composting at home (using worms!), while Stéphanie had a growing interest in the "zero waste" lifestyle. Stéphanie was also in the habit of taking a pillowcase to the corner bakery to pick up bread. When she got back home, she realized that the pillowcase wasn't the most ideal esthetic choice! They decided to look on the Internet for a product that would be suitable in both practical and esthetic terms, but found nothing that met their criteria.

Equipped with only a sewing machine and plenty of naivete, they went to Montreal's famous Rue Chabanel to buy fabric. They then began producing the prototype of what is now their reusable bread bag.

Embracing entrepreneurship was a thrilling and surprising (and stressful) adventure for these two young women, who had no prior business experience. Although they're still at the learning stage, they're having loads of fun!

No longer studying at university, Laurie is now focusing her efforts on their flourishing company. Meanwhile, Stéphanie has to turn down certain contract requests because demand is so high and people are so receptive to this new lifestyle choice (YEAH!).

DIY

Here's a collection of items to make your favorite eco-friendly and natural household and beauty products.

Donna's Picks

Donna has been in the business for over 12 years and has an eye for great products. Each item needs a function, a purpose and serves a greater good. She strives to source products that are mindful and contribute positively to the global community. Organic, Fair Trade and Canadian Made are her favourite things to feature.

DU/ER

A category of stretch performance denim and lifestyle apparel crafted from plants and recycled materials. Designed for “doers” to move comfortably from bikelane to boardroom to an evening out, all in a single pair of pants.

After decades in the jeanswear business our founder traded in his car for a bike to adopt a healthier active lifestyle. Unable to find a pair of pants with stretch to handle a commute and polish for a day of meetings, the need for performance denim emerged.

Putting on a pair of DUER’s casts a vote for slow fashion, more adventure and plant-based apparel.

From day one, we prioritized using plant-based fibres for natural comfort and performance, adding minimal synthetics for a longer product lifespan. Eliminating all synthetic fibres in order to be plastic-free by 2027 remains our greatest focus.

  • Pants From Plants

We’re on a mission to eliminate plastic (oil-based fibres) from our apparel. Currently, 95% of fibres used are plant-based or recycled.

  • Vertically Integrated

Owning our factory ensures high quality across products and oversight of safe, ethical operations.

  • Timeless Collection

We don't chase trends. An emphasis on seasonless styles supports our philosophy to do more with just a few well-made things, and minimizes waste.

Educated Beards

Transition inspired Growth.   Growth created a need.  Necessity sprouted a seed…

The summer of 2016 brought new life and period of change for Educated Beards founders, Kevin Leboeuf and Alicia Philips. It was during this time that the couple would welcome the addition of their newborn baby boy and Kevin would make the life-changing decision to begin his release from the Canadian Armed Forces.

Having been diagnosed with PTSD in the previous year, Kevin began the gradual process of transitioning back into civilian life. To mark the beginning of the shift he decided to do something that had been strictly forbidden to him his entire adult life- growing a beard.

And so, “The Beard” began.

The Beard grew in as most do- beginning with irritation, dissatisfaction and general discomfort. Not willing to give up on his beard bounty just yet, Kevin purchased his first beard oil.

While his partner Alicia was strongly supportive of both The Beard and her loving companion, as a Holistic Nutritionist she was not at all impressed by the products’ harsh chemicals and toxic ingredient list. When the search for a safe and effective alternative proved unsuccessful, she looked to her own background for solutions.

After months of research, testing and trials, they had created a versatile line of premium and holistically safe beard care essentials. As word and demand for their expert formulations spread, it quickly became clear that their product needed to be shared with a larger audience.

By December 2017, both The Brand and The Beard were firmly established. Using the same premium, organic formulation originally perfected for Kevin, Educated Beards is your premier destination for luxury, holistic beard care and grooming essentials.

Everist

Real ‘zero-waste' doesn't exist, but that doesn't stop us from trying.

We want to hold ourselves accountable to every choice that we make as a business, to force ourselves to think outside of the box with the goal to be net-neutral.

From our ingredients (plant-based) to our packaging (recycled and recyclable) to our supply chain (local and certified Climate Neutral) we set out to build a business that would have minimal negative impact to our planet and maximal positive impact to you (hello, great hair).

Here's how we've approached it.

"1. Reject"

We reject single-use plastics and petroleum-derived ingredients that don’t break down in our environment. By keeping them off of you, we're also keeping them out of our water systems.

"2. Reduce"

Next, we reduce wherever possible,
including reducing the size of our products. At 1/3 the size of a traditional bottle of shampoo, Everist products require less packaging and less carbon to ship.

"3. Reuse"

Then we focus on reusing as much as we can, from our 100% recycled kraft paper boxes and mailers to our NEW 100% recycled aluminum tubes (95% post-consumer recycled aluminum, 5% post-industrial recycled aluminum). These tubes require 70% less carbon to produce than virgin aluminum tubes.

"4. Recycle"

Then we choose materials with a high resale value and higher likelihood to be recycled. Our pure aluminum tubes can be infinitely recycled, unlike plastic which can only be downcycled once. Our cartons and mailer boxes are also fully recyclable or compostable.

"5. Repurpose"

After that we repurpose, covering postage costs to return our small plastic caps as part of our CapBack program to ensure they are given a new life.

"6. Revisit"

Finally, we revisit our processes
quarterly, to make sure we are tracking and offsetting our carbon impact 100% through our Climate Neutral Certification. We’re also a 1% of the Planet member and support PlasticBank. Continuous improvement and revisiting our current model to asses what we can do better is part of our ethos.

FIG

At FIG, travel is a way of life. It allows us to see the most beautiful places on earth, soak up a culture that is completely unknown to us, make new encounters and most importantly, create memories that last. It also pushes us out of our comfort zone and helps us better understand the world around us. We believe that by opening up to the world, we open our spirit-and by awakening our curiosity we can broaden our horizons. It is something we highly encourage as a brand.

Preserving the environment is also a fundamental value. Our commitment drives us to choose eco-friendly fibers and small impact production processes when possible. Furthermore, we believe that the problems created by fast-fashion affect us all on a human, social and environmental level.

As a brand, we choose to put quality and sustainability first. Timeless and versatile, our clothes are built to last and be worn for a long time.

Formaticum

Formaticum

Formaticum - Reusable Food Storage Solutions - Recyclable
Cheese is a delicacy, and an often expensive one, at that. We work directly with leading European manufacturers to bring you the same specialty materials used by the finest European cheese purveyors. Our cheese storage paper and bags will help you savor every last bite, just as the cheesemaker intended.
This sent me on a cheese pilgrimage to Paris. Picture my first night in the city: after a day of exploring cheese shops, I spread out my bounty over the bed and took in the aromatic funk of at least forty varieties of cheese. There was camembert, brie de meaux and vacherin mont d’or, all raw milk and delicious! As I sipped my wine, I admired the assortment of materials wrapping my bounty. What were these materials? And how cool was it that they were all branded with the name of the purveyor so I could remember where I had purchased them?
The packaging differentiated these cheeses and, in a way, made them look noble. By the end of my trip, I'd driven to factories all over France to learn everything I could about cheese packaging: That it not only looks good, but protects flavor and allows for proper oxygen exchange, letting cheese breathe. After all, cheese is alive. Let's not suffocate it and let it spoil before we can eat it.

Frank And Oak

We believe in considering the impact of the choices we make every day and view those choices as an opportunity to better ourselves. Our purpose is to Inspire a Better way of Living by creating conscious products that last through time. By marrying innovation with eco-friendly processes, we strive to help shape a cleaner, healthier, and more mindful world where human progress is in harmony with the planet's well-being.

Frank And Oak was founded in Montreal in 2012, with a mission to create an apparel brand that would speak to a new generation of creatives and entrepreneurs.

What once started as a favourite in Montreal’s Mile End quickly blossomed into one of Canada’s leading lifestyle brands and digital retailers.

A certified B Corp, Frank And Oak is now a leader in sustainable fashion and using innovative fabrics from nature to make products that are thoughtfully designed to help you live better, enjoy more, and feel good in everything you wear.

Act with purpose

We design durable products that blend timeless style with functional features that help lay the foundation for better living.

Create communities

We bring together a community of passionate and diverse individuals who want to be part of something bigger.

Inspire innovation

We are a forward-thinking brand that delivers cutting-edge products to fit our customers' modern and evolving lifestyles.

Be authentic

We are driven by passion, not ego. We recognize and celebrate our individuality, strengths, and even weaknesses, but remain humble and open to continuous improvement.

100%

of our assortment is responsible.

For us, that means all our products either contain low-impact, cruelty-free, organic, biodegradable, or recycled fibres, or are manufactured using industry-leading technologies and processes.

Less than 0.5%

of our products feature virgin polyester.

We have (almost) eliminated the use of virgin polyester and replaced it with recycled polyester.

100%

of our denim collection is designed to be circular.

All our denim styles are designed to be easily recycled. This means we craft them using conscious materials, salvaged fibres, and zero rivets.

Over 70%

of our styles are made using mono-fibres and bi-fibres.

The more fibres are mixed together in a garment, the harder it will be to recycle. That is why we strive to keep the percentage of multi-fibre pieces to less than 30% of our collection.

More than 40%

of our deliveries were carbon-neutral in 2023.

Since October 2022, we have been working with our warehousing and last-mile logistics partner, GoBolt, to make our deliveries carbon neutral. Last year, they delivered more than 40% of our packages. 15% of these deliveries were done by Electric Vehicle (EV), and the rest was offset by sequestering carbon.

Code of Conduct

We require all our manufacturing partners to sign our Code of Conduct.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we adhere to the highest standards of fair labour practices and environmental protection. That is why we require our partners to have completed, or be in the process of completing, compliance audits conducted by international organizations such as BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) and WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production).

Frug Jewellery

In 2000, straight out of university and only months after signing the paperwork for their first ever business, partners, Tamara Steinborn and Nathan Dubo, found themselves attending the first trade show they'd ever seen - a national accessories show - as exhibitors. This kind of 'leap first, ask questions later' philosophy has guided Früg to becoming an established Canadian design house. Früg, launched twice annually, offers the largest and most comprehensive collection of its kind in Canada. Seizing on opportunities as they arose, Nathan & Tamara have run simultaneous studios in Winnipeg & Toronto &  then, for 7 years, Montreal`s Mile End, before settling in Ottawa and opening their first retail store, Wunderkammer (German for 'Wonder Room' or 'Cabinet of Curiosities'), in the historic Byward Market in 2011. At the end of 2016, they opened a new store, Kindred Shop & Studio, in Ottawa's fast growing Wellington West neighbourhood.

Our Philosophy

We feel lucky that we get to do what we love. It's hard work, but immensely satisfying. We like beautiful things and creating them in a responsible and mindful manner makes them even more precious to us. Here's how we make changes to contribute where we can:

Sustainable Studio

We maintain all casting and assembly work in Canada and have been upcycling vintage & deadstock components in our jewellery from the start. Whenever there is excess that we are no longer using, component overstock is made available for sale in our store to other budding designers or donated to a local charity.

All raw materials for Tamara Steinborn Jewellery are 100% North American made. We save all silver polishings, filings, and other scrap for refining and use reclaimed silver in casting.

Our re-used shipping boxes and packaging aren't pretty, but that's how we've gone 20 years without using a single new box. Besides, it's what's on the inside that counts :)

Sustainable Retail Store

  • Canadian and Artisan Made

At least half of the jewellery in our store is designed and created in our own studio, We also create a rotating selection of non-GMO soy candles and stained glass jewellery and home decor using lead free solder under the Summon Design Studio label. We carry a large selection of jewellery from small scale producers, as well as from larger jewellery design companies that support in-house design and production and/or fair trade.

  • Environmental Footprint

Working with vintage and upcycled stock is part of our regular design and purchasing mandate. As well as selling vintage items, our displays and fixtures are created using salvaged materials such as barn wood & wood pallets that we take apart and rebuild over and over again. All usable packing papers and bubble wrap/peanuts received in shipments are used for wrapping breakables in the store or for shipping from the studio. As a result, we have not used new packing paper or bubble wrap from day one. All paper, bottles/cans, printer cartridges, electronics and light bulbs are recycled.

Garage Sale

We're clearing out older stock before our renovation in February. So now you get to enjoy some screaming deals! Have fun browsing through the GARAGE SALE.

Getting Out of Dodge

Getting Out of Dodge

The anti-magnetic din of our technical & complex world can cause any one of us to blow the odd fuse or two.
Fear not intrepid traveler, we've set aside a few choice items for when you've decided to trade it all in for a ride on the good-ship Wanderlust.

Glass Sipper

Hi! I'm Aimee Promislow and as both a lifelong craftsperson and a lifelong recycler, in 2014 I found a way to combine both passions and founded GlassSipper.

I started making glass beads in 2006. I loved creating fun and cute beads with dogs, cats, fish and even turtles on them, but didn't know what to do with them. At the same time, we had bought a Vitamix blender and were making smoothies every morning. The kids wanted straws for their smoothie, but the only smoothie straw we knew about was a plastic one.

Then late one night, frustrated with plastic straws spilling out of our kitchen drawers, not to mention the guilt of using all of those plastic straws, I had a 'eureka' moment. I realized that instead of making glass beads, I could be making reusable glass drinking straws. That night GlassSipper was born and I found a way to marry my love of making glass art and helping the environment.

In the summer of 2016 my husband Fred stopped being a lawyer and joined GlassSipper. Together, we are committed to ridding the world of plastic straws and replacing them with our reusable, toxin-free, environmentally friendly and fun glass drinking straws.

We live in Vancouver BC, close to the ocean with our 2 teenage boys and border terrier pup. Although the boys use GlassSippers daily, they have yet to join the family business :)

GLOBE

At Globe, as skateboarders, surfers and snowboarders,
we spend a lot of time doing what we love outdoors,
so we are conscious of our environment.

We’re far from perfect, but we’ve stepped off the fast fashion
treadmill and are focused on producing premium evergreen
 clothing for the modern explorer.

We are using more sustainable fibres in our fabrics
and rigorously testing our clothing for fit, function and
durability. It’s all about making quality clothing that is low velocity.

More sustainable fibres and materials mean more durable products that are Low Velocity and have less impact on the environment.

We rigorously test our clothing for fit, function and durability.
It’s all about making quality clothing that lasts.

Over 97% of our collection now comes delivered from our factories in paper garment bags, which are FSC certified and easily recyclable.

Paper may get more crinkled and roughed up in transit, but we’d rather use paper you can easily recycle, than plastic polybags which mostly end up in landfill or even worse, in our oceans.

At the end of the day your clothing will still arrive in great condition. It’s just another small step in Living Low Velocity.

Guests On Earth

The Household Gender Gap refers to the unequal distribution of household labor between men and women, with women generally shouldering a greater share of the burden.

It's 2024, let's get with the times. We believe that a more sustainable world is also a more equitable one.

That's why we created our products to be safe and enjoyable for the whole family - from nontoxic, premium, plant-based ingredients to gender-neutral scents and design, we are committed to getting everyone involved in cleaning.

Small Format, Low Impact

Traditional cleaning products come in single use plastic bottles and are over 90% water.

Our small format concentrated refills allow us to save 10x the emissions in transportation by using the tap water you have at home instead of shipping water to you.

One Refill = One Full-Size Bottle

Our concentrated refills come in packs of two.

When you've finished a bottle of Guests on Earth cleaner or soap, simply fill water to the fill line of your reusable vessel, pour in a refill vial, shake to mix and you'll have a full-sized, premium product in seconds.

Say PEACE to Single-Use Plastic

Each design was made with the intention of minimizing long-term impact on daily activities.

Our reusable vessels and vials are made from aluminum. 75% of aluminum is still in circulation today in North America vs. only 9% of plastic.

Heart and Lotus

Heart and Lotus is an eco-conscious business.

We want to keep Earth as green and glorious as possible. To this end, we help sustain community and the planet by donating a portion of our profits to World Land Trust (WLT) a non-profit environmental organization who’s primary aims are to ensure conservation of rainforests, animals and natural communities at risk.

Proud to be 100% fairtrade.

In the creating of our jewelry, we work closely with a family of career silversmiths/artisans in India of whom we have a positive, longstanding relationship with. Our friends abroad work in a safe, comfortable environment that is run by solar power. They are paid excellent wages and receive medical benefits.

We are carbon balanced.

We are a member of the World Land Trust Carbon Balanced program which “enable[es]….companies to offset their unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions through the protection and restoration of carbon-rich wildlife habitats in the tropics”.

Earth friendly packaging.

Our bags are made from plants!  Which make them  biodegradable and earth friendly.  All of our Jewelry displays are made locally using sustainably sourced wood.

Dedicated to empowering others.

HUHA

Our founder wanted underwear that cared for women better. Sensitive to fabrics and trims, the irritation and discomfort born by unthoughtful underwear was no stranger to her. And after experiencing recurring UTIs that made it impossible for her to wear synthetic undies, she knew something needed to change.

This is where Huha began.

From a determination to make the most basic, under-innovated garment better.

How could underwear be made better? Through turning standards on their head, from design to materials, Huha has found its unique place in the market. It's a place that steers away from synthetics and towards designs and materials that are better.

To create underwear that care for you, down there.

Not just underwear. Undercare.

TENCEL™ and smartcel™ sensitive are the cornerstone materials that make up every pair of Huha's.

These tree-derived materials, the latter spun with soothing mineral zinc oxide, are better for the environment and better for our bodies. Materials partnered with design, and a full coverage lining unique to us, Huha is doing something different in women’s intimates.

We like to think we’re setting a new standard.

One of self-love and self-care.

IPPINKA

When curating products for IPPINKA, we use a Simplified 4 Principles of Good Design, derived from Dieter Ram’s original 10, to evaluate which products are worthy of us introducing to you.

Good Design:

  1. is functional
  2. is made to a high quality (well-made)
  3. has minimalist aesthetic design that withstands time
  4. is environmentally and socially conscious
Although it may sound counter-intuitive, IPPINKA wants you to consume less. We want to help you choose products that will serve you for a long time, instead of constantly buying similar products to replace old items.

CURATORS

In the fall of 2012, Jerry Chang left his software consulting job to pursue his long-time passion in design. IPPINKA was born with the help of friends who share the same vision. Now we are still a small team of people who are very grateful to be doing what we love. Our backgrounds come from engineering, product design, and art. We love culture and try to feature designers & makers from different regions of the world on IPPINKA.

Katin USA

In 1954, Nancy and Walter Katin opened a small boat cover business called Kanvas by Katin in Surfside, California, just north of Huntington Beach. Walter, a tenaciously friendly man, both short and robust, always donned an iconic ensemble of a powder-blue jumpsuit zipped up to the neck with a captain's hat. Earning the nickname the "Captain," for both his style and passion for sailing his boat "The Southern Seas," proudly took on the title of craftsman within the business. Walter's wife Nancy, standing less than five feet tall possessed a personality far greater than her stature and a mind brighter than her crimson hair, was the salesperson.

Walter and Nancy's canvas boat covers were practically bulletproof, using hundred-pound-test, waxed-nylon thread, and nickel grommets. Locals soon took note of these sturdy canvas covers and sought alternate uses for the canvas.

After special requests from a select few friends, the "Captain" constructed a couple of custom boat shorts. Although impressed with the short's design, Walter chose to continue his focus on the canvas boat covers. However, a couple of years later, things quickly changed for the Katins when a local teen walked into the shop asking for a new kind of short. One made specifically for surfing, using the same durable canvas as the boat covers. The young surfer explained his struggles with surfing in cut off jeans, and how the denim threads would quickly break, leaving him nearly nude when exiting the water. This determined teenager's name was Corky Carroll, who unbeknownst to Walter, would go on to be one of the world's first professional surfers. The custom surf trunks Walter made for Corky would become one of California's first surf trunks.

After Walter's surf trunk creation for Corky, word spread and the shop became flooded with young surfers wanting a pair of trunks. In true Walter fashion, he measured and tailored each pair of custom surf trunks for every surfer. Overwhelmed with hopeful surfers pleading for a pair of trunks, Walter sought the help of Sato Hughes, a skillful local seamstress who is still sewing at the Katin shop today.

The sport of surfing reached mainstream popularity in the mid-1960s, and the Katins were firmly entrenched in the surfing community and known for creating the best surf trunks around.

Champion surfers of the time, Shaun Tomson, Peter Townend, Reno Abelliro, Mike Purpus, and Gerry Lopez, to name a few, wore Katin surf trunks, purely out of passion and respect for these impressive trunks and their creators, Walter and Nancy. Even notorious surfer Eddie Aikau was photographed wearing Katin surf trunks.

Passionate about surfing, the Katin couple helped sponsor early California surf contests and organizations, including the "Katin Underdog Contest" for competitors who had never won a surf contest. When Walter passed away in 1967, Nancy not only kept business intact, but she also expanded her involvement in the surf world by providing surfing scholarships. She even went on to start the Katin PRO/AM Team Challenge in 1977. The annual Pro/Am took place on the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier. Not only did the Pro/Am featured some of the world's best surfers, but it also provided amateur surfers all across the U.S. to compete alongside their heroes. World Champion surfers such as Shaun Tomson, Tom Curren, Martin Potter, Sunny Garcia, and Kelly Slater have gone on to win the Pro/Am.

By the early 1980s, the surf industry had officially skyrocketed, and many manufacturers were quick to take advantage of the trend. Though there were many offers made to Nancy to sell her business, she was determined to keep Katin a cherished surf haven for all. Nancy continued making surf trunks in the back room of the Surfside Kanvas by Katin store, selling them up front and relying on the existing loyal network of surf shops for additional distribution.

Nancy became known as the "First Lady of Surfing," not only because of the famous surf trunks, she befriended many of the surfers that came to her shop, even acting as a second mom to most. Despite the initial local dislike for the sport of surfing, Nancy made sure that the Katin's surf shop had a couch and chairs for all the surfers to hang out.

Sadly, in 1986 Nancy passed away, leaving the surf industry and all of the Katin-wearing surfers with a heavy heart. However, when Nancy passed, she left the company to Sato Hughes, her loyal seamstress since 1961. Sato and her son Glenn have since continued to run the original surf shop with the same love, dedication, and care as Nancy and Walter, sewing custom surf trunks with the same quality, durability and good looks since 1954.

Having been born by the beach and raised along the California coast, Katin remains a staple of Southern California culture.

Katin continues to take pride in its title as California's first brands to make surf trunks and continues its commitment to selling high-quality, durable goods.

Clothing manufacturing has become nameless and faceless. And yet, the people behind the products we buy are anything but. Join us in celebrating the people who make the clothing we wear.

Timeless quality.

Outfitting you with the quality staples you’ll love and want in your closet for years to come.

Celebrating makers.

Each piece is hand-signed and we invite you to learn more about the maker of your item.

Collaborative approach.

We seek to share our mission of humanizing apparel with individuals and brands alike.

At KNOWN SUPPLY, we are reimagining apparel production in a way that honors and celebrates the people behind the clothing we buy.

As shoppers, we rarely consider the implications our purchases have on the communities who actually make the items we wear and as a result companies are incentivized to drive prices and quality lower.

This needs to change.

We work with underserved populations to provide meaningful work and to show the powerful impact our clothing purchases can have if made thoughtfully.

We introduce you to the woman who made your apparel in an effort to bring people back to the forefront. Each KNOWN SUPPLY product is accompanied by the signature of the person who made it.

As more of us put people first when it comes to making our purchasing decisions, the clothing industry will too. Together with you, we will tell an industry that all people are valuable, and in the process, we’ll change the lives of the millions of people who are a part of it.

Kuma Earth friendly eyewear

Kuma Eyewear

Kuma Eyewear gives its wearers the opportunity to change lives with every purchase.

Trees help to increase agricultural yields, improve water infiltration and aquifer recharge and protect soils from wind and water erosion for the local communities they are planted in.

They provide food, wood for fuel and construction materials for the communities they are planted in as well as food and forage for indigenous plant and animal species.
Kuma Eyewear has partnered with Trees for the Future to plant trees in some of our planets most deforested and endangered eco systems.

Trees For The Future has helped thousands of communities in Central America, Africa, and Asia be more sustainable and restore the environment by planting nearly 65 million trees!
Trees matter to all of us because they help mitigate global climate change.

Recent natural disasters illustrate that global climate change is real and sadly only now more people and governments are starting to take action to help reverse global climate change.
Land without trees is more vulnerable to both floods and drought.
What’s more, deforestation and climate change are intimately connected.
Fewer trees mean that more CO2 escapes into the earth’s atmosphere and prevents heat from escaping into space.
Conversely, more trees reduce CO2 emissions, thus helping to lower the earth’s temperature.

With every tree planted through your purchase of Kuma Eyewear we help to reduce global climate change.

La Petite Leonne

La petite Leonne is based in Montreal. We make sustainable goods for modern families. Our creations are gentle on the environment and designed to last.

La petite Leonne was born out of a desire to make the world a better place for our children. We work hard to produce in the cleanest and most caring way possible.

This involves slow production: all dyeing is made with plants in our Montreal workshop and our products are sewn by our local partners. Our waste is reduced as much as possible and our fabric scraps are reused in smaller pieces (makeup remover pads, hair bows, decorative garlands...).

We imagine pieces that you will keep for a long time, because of their quality and functionality. With a little luck, they will also pass down to the next at the end of their journey in your home.

Lambert

Everything starts with an idea

Our president is a young mother who had the idea to create the bags she dreamed of wearing, chic and practical vegan leather bags. So she decided to collaborate with local designers to create unique models.

The design of our bags is a creative process that starts in Montreal.

All models are designed by local designers.

Then, the technical drawings are sent to our factory in Guangzhou, which has been working in women's accessories for 18 years. They have a unique know-how to design quality products. We were fortunate to meet a great team, including Vivian and Cliff, who understand the importance of quality and attention to detail in the production of our bags and accessories.

THE FACTORY

Our ethical approach.

Moreover, we chose this factory because it corresponds to our code of ethics. The factory is modern and the working conditions are excellent. The facilities are safe and organized. The employees work in air-conditioned conditions, they have a small trendy coffee shop at their disposal and they are entitled to an hour's siesta after dinner.

In addition to an annual visit to the factory, we also required a third party inspection report. They passed the report hands down!

OUR QUALITY

Vegan leather

Our vegan backpacks look very similar to leather. We work with PU (polyurethane) vegan leather, a strong and durable material that is less harmful to the environment than PVC. Our products are very easy to maintain. To clean them, simply use a soft, damp cloth and the trick is in the bag!

Our vegan bags are multifunctional, durable and easy to care for. The practical side adds appeal to a fashionable backpack with its simplicity and timeless look. Our bags serve to ingeniously lighten your movements, not add extra weight on your shoulders.

The design of all our Lambert vegan bags has been conceived with respect for animal ethics. We are also very proud to be PETA certified.

Le Comptoir Aroma

We are a Canadian family run business and the subsidiary of Groupe Batteur France since 2016, located on the south shore of Montreal.

We are specialized in diffusers, organic essential oils and blends for diffusion under the brand Le Comptoir Aroma.

We create eco-friendly collection of diffusers made of respectful and recyclable materials: bamboo, wood, glass, ceramic, recycled bamboo fiber, recycled plastic.

We prioritize simple packagings.

We limit most as much as possible the use of plastic in our packagings.

We reuse boxes of our suppliers to reduce our waste and over-consumption

Livin La Vida Vegan

Loo Drops

A New Era of Self Care

Our mission is to elevate the bathroom experience by reducing the stigma around something we all do.

We believe that self-care starts the moment you step into your bathroom and leaving it shouldn't be a dreaded experience.

By simply dispensing a few drops of our specially formulated solution into the toilet bowl before use, Loo's drops effectively trap and neutralize odors, leaving the bathroom smelling fresh and clean.

Why We Give A Sh*t

Welcome to Loo, where our founder's global odyssey inspired the creation of a revolutionary pre-poop solution. Frustrated by the lack of a discreet, chic, and effective solution for bathroom odors, she envisioned a product that would revolutionize the daily poop ritual.

Dissatisfied with toxic aerosols, ineffective candles, and gimmicky sprays that get all over your hands, Loo was born. Our formula not only eradicates unpleasant odors but also elevates the entire bathroom routine, providing a fresh, natural scent without the mess.

Lotus Eaters

Lotus Eaters was created by the Designer Aris Tolios as a lifestyle brand. In Ancient Greek times, the Lotus fruit was eaten which gave those who ate the fruit a feeling of euphoria and a different way of understanding their existence. Lotus Eaters the brand follows this philosophy. Those who will wear Lotus Eaters will feel complete, unique, confident comfortable whith themselves - a feeling of EUPHORlA.

Fabrics are created by Artisans and the Designer to fit the designs, to make them unique and special, using old family techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation bringing us back to our grass roots, to bring that special garment to the retail sector.

All production is made in Greece.

Mason Jar Accessories

Here's a collection of goodies that take your mason jar and turn it into something more functional for everyday use.
Masontops

Masontops

Founded by childhood friends Phil Baron and Mike Bacher, Masontops started with a joint appreciation of Mason jars. Go to your cupboard: chances are you have at least 4 Mason jars tucked away. Although they've been around since 1858, Mason jars continue to be a versatile storage vessel, crafting tool, and decor item. We were so inspired by the utility of the Mason jar and allure of its vintage charm, that we decided to start a company to help people upcycle their jars. Masontops is dedicated to creating Mason jar accessories that turn Mason jars into beautiful storage solutions, easy fermentation vessels, coffee bean preservers, and whatever new idea comes our way. But for now, let's go back to the beginning.

After having many frustrating experiences tying to ferment sauerkraut, we realized there was a need to simplify the process. We fell in love with the idea of fermenting in Mason jars: they were the perfect size for storing, easy to clean, and even easier to find. Some will say it was entrepreneurial spirit, others say it was the sauerkraut, either way, our creative juices started flowing and along came Masontops, Inc.

Mata Traders Handmade Jewelry Fair Trade

Mata Traders

Mata Traders’ journey in fair trade fashion began in 2007 with a simple question: “Is this fair trade?” Almost immediately, we were driven to produce responsibly, seeking out partnerships with fair trade organizations that could make ethical production a scalable reality. Prioritization of worker well-being and respect for handmade artistry had us hooked from the start. Now, that passion has multiplied alongside a growing relationship with our partners and an expanding team in our home city of Chicago.

The backbone of fair trade fashion is its dedication to fairness, safety, gender equity, and direct, sustainable, and accountable relationships. Our commitment to the five producer groups that make Mata is long term, collaborative, and if we’re being honest, pretty freaking exciting.

Matt & Nat

“We are not perfect but we aim to better ourselves with time. The vegan spirit of Matt & Nat will live on. Our learning journey has just begun.”
– Manny Kohli, President & Ceo

Some ideas sneak up on you as if they were always meant to be. The idea behind MAT(T)ERIAL and NATURE originally came to life in 1995, in beautiful Montreal. We’re passionate and in awe of the world that surrounds us. Being inspired by MAT(T)erial and NATure means exploring the synergy between the two, the reflection of one on the other.

At MATT & NAT, we live by a simple motto, “Live beautifully”. Living beautifully means appreciating the humanity, creativity and positivity found in all of us. Our values include social responsibility, excellence, inclusiveness, integrity, learning, authenticity and, of course, love. We are inspired by the textures and hues of nature and, to better protect it, we aim to constantly better our ways.

From the start, being committed to not using leather or any other animal-based materials in our designs felt natural to us. Each season, we continue to explore new innovative ways to remain sustainable and eco-friendly. Over the years, we’ve been experimenting with different recycled materials such as recycled nylons, cardboard, rubber and cork. Since 2007, we’ve been committed to using linings only made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. We have also recently introduced recycled bicycle tires to our collections.

  • MATT & NAT stands for MAT(T)ERIAL + NATURE.
  • M&N is a vegan brand therefore there are no animal products used in production.
  • In 2010, the UN reported that the best way to protect the environment is to adopt a vegan/vegetarian diet, given the harmful effects of factory farming.
  • The linings inside all MATT & NAT bags are made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles.
  • In addition to being vegan, sustainable materials are constantly sourced in design such as cork and rubber.
  • We visit diligently each factory and build strong personal relationships with their owners; they too are a part of the Matt & Nat family. This involvement in the making of our bags ensures integrity every step of the way.
  • MATT & NAT design and produce their own custom hardware.
  • Over the years, some great brand ambassadors of M&N have included Nathalie Portman, Fearne Cotton, Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron, Rory Freidman, Emily Deschanel, Tobey Maguire and Adrian Grenier.
  • MATT & NAT encourages their team to volunteer as much as possible, when schedule permits.
  • MATT & NAT encourages upcycling. If you haven’t used it in the last six months, someone else can!

It’s important for us not to use leather. Simply put, we don’t like hurting animals and we care about the welfare of the planet. Our collections are all designed by our close-knit team in Montreal, Quebec. We develop prototypes and collections based on our sketches, using our signature vegan leathers and using eco-friendly materials like recycled nylon, cork and rubber. The bags are then produced in China, in small factories we’ve had long-standing relationships with. We only collaborate with factories that are in line with our ethos and verify regularly our operations are up to standards. We make sure the factories we work with qualify for the SA8000 standard certification.

MPG

Our mission is to protect our planet by using our business as a force for good.

We have set Science Based Targets (SBTs) to go net zero for scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2028 and scope 3 by 2035. We are also committed to making our clothes with sustainable fabrics and continuously reducing our environmental impact throughout our offices and supply chain.

Understanding the urgent need to reduce and eventually phase out waste and pollution, extend the lifespan of products, and restore our natural ecosystems, we launched Operation Circularity in 2021.

This project initiated a radical and massive shift from virgin material to more sustainably preferred and recycled materials in our garments, executed through innovative efforts and partnering with suppliers and organizations across the globe who share our vision for a better world.

Mus Bombon

Our purpose goes beyond creating a fashion brand. It is about choosing exclusive materials, about valuing how we work and who does it, and about being committed to proximity. And so, with our timeless collections, we do our bit for the planet, creating greater environmental awareness through organic materials such as cotton or linen and 100% local production in Spain and Portugal, with all our products being zero kilometre.

nixit

Canadian Made, Medical Grade Silicone Reusable One Size Fits Most Menstrual Cup!

We’re nixit, and we are on a mission to think differently about period care, by designing quality products that are built to last. We hope you embrace the journey with us.

nixit isn’t just about a great product - it’s about creating an environment where we all feel comfortable to discuss periods.

                                              — Rachael Newton. Founder

How it started

A year ago, I was living in the Caribbean. Every morning, I would take a walk along the beach and see the garbage and plastic that washed up on shore. There was no recycling on our island and all our waste went to a big heap in the middle of the island for all to see (and smell).Quick research told me that there was the equivalent of 4 plastic bags in a pack of pads and all the tampons I used had non-biodegradable plastic in them. Then I found out that disposable menstrual products are the fifth most common source of waste washing up on beaches.

The truth about periods

I hadn’t realized that tampons were so drying, that they contain pesticides, bleach and even glue. I had been putting them in the most absorbent part of my body (and flushing them down the toilet) for years without question. Rushing to meetings with no time to get to the bathroom, constantly worrying that I might be leaking, stuffing tampons up my sleeve, checking for tampon strings at the beach. And all that time, they weren’t even good for me. I felt cheated - was this really the best we could do? When I started to think about it, I realized that it was completely normal for me to always be slightly worried about my period when I was menstruating - the worry never went away.

Worry free

When I started to look at menstrual cups there were so many options that I didn’t know where to start, but I could see that they were a better product. That’s how nixit was born - a menstrual cup that fits everyone and that is so soft and supple it’s actually easier to insert.  nixit isn’t just about a great product - it’s about creating an environment where we all feel comfortable to discuss periods - with our partners, with our children, even with our colleagues. Periods aren’t something to be ashamed of and they’re also not something to be worried about. With nixit, all the typical worries go away - and I want everyone to experience that.

Our impact

nixit menstrual cups make for a clean swap. They’re free of chemicals, and unlike even organic tampons, they don’t dry out or disrupt down there. These registrations mean we hold our menstrual cup to a high standard.

  • Registered with the FDA

  • Authorized for sale by Health Canada

  • Made in Canada

The time for progress is now.

Ever wonder about the waste your period products leave behind? Between the wrappers, applicators, tampons, pads, and panty liners, it starts to stack up. With nixit, all the typical worries go away and it’s a reusable sustainable product. Better for you, and the planet.

No Tox Life

No Tox Life was born from the desire to provide natural, toxin-free vegan body care to help you live a cleaner, greener lifestyle.  We are a local, family-run business and each product is handmade using the highest-quality ingredients we can find.

Odesse

Odesse is a wax-based, pocket-sized fragrance that
will change your beauty routine forever, then talk
dirty in your ear. Fresh or fiery, Odesse blends the
highest quality Australian native ingredients to create
a suite of fragrances that are longer-lasting, more
affordable and kinder to the planet than your
traditional spray perfume.

The amount of plastic packaging on U.S.
products has increased 120x over since 1980,
and almost 70% of that is sitting somewhere
in landfill. So Odesse has taken matters into
her own hands, eliminating packaging
that takes hundreds of years to break down,
and refusing to use cheap fillers that end up
in our oceans.

Odesse’s refillable perfumes will
save time, money, and the planet.
Reduce your overall waste by adding
her to your routine.
Fun fact: Aluminium is one of the most
recycled — and recyclable — materials
available. Actually, nearly 75% of all aluminium
produced in the U.S. is still going strong today.
It can be recycled directly back into itself
again and again in a true closed loop.

Your beauty products aren’t as angelic as you
think, you know. In fact, most of them have
something to hide — and it’s usually water.
From shampoo to skincare to spritz perfume,
almost every beauty product released
contains a huge amount of water (like, up to
95% huge). On top of that, the manufacturing
process uses water to clean, refresh and
process products, sending thousands of litres
of water down the literal drain.

OLA Bamboo

OLA Bamboo

The OLA Bamboo family is made up of three young entrepreneurs who want to make a real difference for the planet. Everyone knows that plastic causes devastation to the environment — especially for marine life! The Internet and social media are full of heartbreaking photos that show the terrible effects that plastics have on nature. But what can we actually do to change things? This is where the idea came about.

To make a real difference, you need to start by taking small steps. Our journey began with the bamboo toothbrush because toothbrushes are something that we all use in our daily lives, and which are (almost) always plastic. But we didn’t want to stop there! Tons of utilitarian objects are disposable and tremendously polluting.

So we started making OLA Bamboo wooden utensils and bamboo straws. Tons and tons of plastic will thus avoid ending up in nature every year.

Our journey in this business has been full of surprises! You might have seen us on the CBC show Dans l’œil du Dragon (the Quebec version of Dragon’s Den) on May 22, 2017.

That appearance really helped us get the word out about our eco-friendly toothbrushes. OLA Bamboo is more than a brand, it’s a lifestyle.

Let’s reduce our environmental footprint together by eliminating plastic waste and planting trees! Because buying OLA Bamboo also means contributing to the planting of thousands of trees in Quebec through Compensation CO2.

Becoming eco-responsible takes a few simple steps and that’s what we propose. Join the OLA Bamboo journey!

Together, for an eco-friendly lifestyle!

Meet our Founder

“I spent many years working as an esthetician. Although I had access to the ‘best’ skincare products, I could never seem to manage my own skin struggles: extremely sensitive, reactive and breakout prone. I started creating my own with plant-based formulations and saw a drastic improvement in the health of my skin. Without much consideration, I quit my job, maxed out my credit cards and began a three year journey of intensive study into the world of natural cosmetics. My passion, vision and excitement for green beauty took hold. They have become deeply rooted in every part of Om.”

Oneka All Natural Hair Products

Oneka

Oneka’s all natural personal care products were created out of a respect for our water sources and the many organisms that help clean and purify it along its way. Rather than causing damage or polluting; Oneka products work WITH the elements of nature. We do this by using certified organic and wild harvested herbal extracts to nourish the hair and body without the use of sulphates, parabens, or synthetic fragrances.

We don’t claim to be perfect, but we're trying to do the right thing! It may sound like a cliché, but we want to leave things better than when we found them. We strive to do business in a more sustainable way, by taking responsibility for the impact of our business on society and the environment; and transforming our impact from negative to positive. It’s part of our quest to become a truly sustainable, all natural business.

Our organic farm operates on the fundamental principles of permaculture. Taking an all natural approach, with sensitivity to the land’s needs, as well as sustainable production; the foundation of permaculture is to create systems and methods that are permanently beneficial to the environment and society.

Our farm strives to achieve both. Socially, we are active and connected with our community and region; with a global mindset. Environmentally, we operate our farm and harvest our botanicals in a way that will add to the quality of our land and its ecosystems, rather than deplete and harm them. And everything we grow is done 100% organically.

From Native North American tribe Mohawk; Ohne:ka means 'water'. The name Oneka was chosen to reflect the importance of manufacturing natural personal care products while being very conscious of water. Oneka reaches beyond great looking hair, no compromise on quality, and sources ingredients known to be readily biodegradable.

Onyx Stainless Steel Containers

Onyx

So what makes us choose ONYX CONTAINERS as the ones we carry here at All Things Being Eco? Well, let me tell ya, all things stainless steel are not created (and I mean manufactured) equally. Onyx is one of the only ethically produced Stainless Steel containers on the market. So that means the people are being paid properly for their work, have SAFE working environments and follow labour regulations (like they actually get a break, and don't have to work endless days etc etc.). SO next time you're looking at Stainless Steel items and are paying an arm and a leg...think about who is making that money...and it's most likely not the manufacturers!

SAVES LIVES

NON Organic Cotton crops use an estimated $2 Billion of chemicals, pesticides and genetically modified organisms each year. Certified Organic Cotton is not treated with any harmful products.Half of the $2 billion in chemicals and pesticides used in NON Organic Cotton are designated “TOXIC” by the World Health Organisation.

SAVES THE PLANET

Cotton is recognised as the “worlds dirtiest crop”.

97% of the worlds cotton is NON Organic. The seeds of which have been genetically modified to produce more and be impervious to chemicals.

25% of the worlds insecticides and 10% of the worlds pesticides are used on NON Organic Cotton.

In Organic Cotton the combination of NO toxic chemicals, pesticides and genetically modified organisms with up to 91% less water consumption helps protect our planet.

The consumption of NON Organic Cotton releases approx. 220 million tonnes of greenhouse gas each year. Organic Cotton creates approx. 46% less CO2 emissions.

2.6% of the worlds water usage is used to produce NON Organic Cotton.

20% of the Worlds Freshwater pollution comes from textile treatment and dyeing.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service have estimated that pesticides unintentionally kill 67 million birds each year in the US.

As we conducted our research into the transition from Non Organic Cottons to Certified Organic Cottons it became evident that it was not a case of should we do this but how quickly we can do this!

A quote I read whilst researching the impact of chemicals & pesticide inspired me to work faster.

“We are living on the planet like we have another one to go to”

We can all make a difference. At Orientique we are proud of the direction we have taken, and are confident our commitment to naturality will support
our small business network of customers around the world.

We have more work to do but we won’t stop working on producing a better garment for you.

Original Sprout Natural Shampoo, Conditioner,

Original Sprout

Original Sprout makes safe and effective products that parents can count on. Original Sprout was founded in 2003 as a true labor of love by a top hairstylist in Santa Barbara, when she was a new mom. She sought to make products with ingredients that were safe to use on the sensitive skin of her daughter, and that other mothers and fathers could trust. Inspired by the needs of many parents who were asking her for detangling and styling advice, a full line of products was slowly developed.  Original Sprout has grown into a complete collection of soothing shampoos, conditioners, styling and body care products for the entire family, all produced and packaged in California, USA. Formulated without any irritants such as parabens and phthalates, Original Sprout also does not include ingredients such as lavender and tea-tree oil, which have been linked to hormone disruption in children.  Our vegan and cruelty-free products are each individually tested as non-toxic, safe, and effective. Our proprietary formulas contain nourishing extracts from fruits, vegetables and flowers, the whole family can enjoy. We're not just for babies anymore!

At Plantable Greetings we truly believe that businesses need to do more for the world we occupy. In fact the entire foundation of this company was built on that one mentality.  The goal for the company was to produce a unique desirable product that is zero waste and 100% biodegradable. Pretty cool right?

Early on in the process we had our zero waste product and we had a really good feeling about our progression on this project.
While we were all feeling very accomplished and hopeful for the weeks to come we weren't out of the woods yet. Our major hurdle was still in front of us, we had our carbon footprint from shipping our product to tackle.

Cue our partnership with Pledgeling. This partnership allows us to plant 2 trees for every card sold. Eureka! WE'VE DONE IT!
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.  Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Have you ever taken an Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
The decision was an easy one. Trees are good for our health and our environment and simply our well being.

prAna

When you reach into your closet, there should be something there that reflects who you are, how you feel, and what you value most. There should be something that you can put on in the morning and confidently wear all day long. Something you can throw in your bag and know will work for whatever your journey brings.

prAna is that something

We create versatile, stylish, and sustainable clothing and accessories that you can wear during every activity, every adventure, every day. How do we know? Because we base our designs on our own experiences. You see we’re more than makers, we’re doers—yogis, climbers, and world travelers—and we use our knowledge to make clothes that look good and play hard. We like to focus on the details, and aren’t afraid to go bold when it comes to colors and whimsical patterns. We love to combine classic style with modern materials, ever mindful of where and how our creations are made.

Now you can wear the bright colors you love without fear of polluting the air and water with harsh chemicals. Since 2012, prAna has partnered with bluesign® systems to ensure that the fabrics we use meet the highest environmental and human safety standards.

Fair Trade standards ensure that garment workers have safe working conditions, a voice in the workplace, higher earnings, and that women are treated equally. Although these rights may seem basic, they are simply not guaranteed in many of the countries where clothing is produced.  prAna is proud to be one of the first major clothing companies to offer Fair Trade Certified™ products. In partnership with Fair Trade USA, we launched our Fair Trade styles back in 2010. With each new season, we aim to offer as many Fair Trade Certified products as possible through partnerships with newly certified factories.

We remain stringently committed to our polybag reduction initiative. From 2011 through 2016, we have eliminated 10.6 million+ polybags from landfills. That roughly equates to the same weight as 25 adult blue whales.

Pure Anada

“Since the inception of Pure Anada, my goal has been to create a natural, safer alternative to traditional, mainstream cosmetics.  I love the beauty of nature, and enjoy the challenge of assembling luxurious, organic ingredients into products for you to enjoy.”

Candace Grenier (Formulator & Founder)

We have been selling Pure Anada for almost 10 years. I could tell you hundreds of reasons why. Outlined below are the pillars of what they stand for and it is found in every thread of the company. Tried and true, this line won't disappoint. Great quality, vivid colors, expanding products and an amazing price point.

Ethical

Since the ingredients used in our products are sourced from around the world, we do our best to research the supply chain to ensure the ingredients we purchase are fairly traded.  Our shea butter comes from a women’s co-op in west Africa.  Our Mica supplier ensures that their product is mined ethically in India without the use of child labour.  They own their own mines, fund schools and daycare centers so that the quality of life for their employees is fair.

Canadian-made

It’s estimated that only 5% of makeup brands actually have a hand in making their own product.  The rest rely on third party, contract manufacturing companies to produce their line.  Since the cosmetic industry isn’t well-regulated, there is room for dishonesty in labelling, and green-washing. Our products are made in our own, certified organic lab and manufacturing facility in Morden, Manitoba.  Aside from a few products (nail polish and pencils), we have the benefit of being in control of our formulations, ingredients and processes.

Clean Formulations

Our goal is to use ingredients that are derived from nature. We avoid the “Dirty Dozen” ingredients used in cosmetics, as well as the Environmental Defense’s “Toxic Ten”.  For your reference, download the Just Beautiful Personal Care Shopping Guide or Gillian Deacon’s Wallet Tip Sheet.

Free from Common Allergens

We are committed to choosing ingredients that are least likely to cause skin irritations and allergic reactions. With that said, it may still be possible to be sensitive to a naturally sourced ingredient. Our products do NOT contain:  Gluten (our Vitamin E is derived from Rice Bran or non GMO soy), Tree Nuts (or oils - exception: Eyeliner Pencils contain Almond Oil),  Bismuth Oxychloride (common mineral irritant).

Cruelty-Free

We do not test our products on animals, nor do we purchase ingredients from suppliers that do.   Pure Anada has been certified as a cruelty-free manufacturer by the Leaping Bunny program. Our bamboo brushes are made of synthetic micro-fiber and therefore are also cruelty free. The majority of our products are also vegan (contain no animal by-products).  Look for the PETA Cruelty-Free and Vegan Logo.

Nostalgic Branding

The floral graphics on our website and new product branding is authentic, vintage, botanical drawings from the 1800s.  This signifies our appreciation for nature and it’s obvious beauty. It is remnant of a simpler time when our food was whole, and nature was unmodified.  Our formulas reflect this principle since we incorporate simple ingredients from the earth- floral waters, plant oils and mineral pigments.

Rather Green

The intention was simply to do something that could help people live more sustainably, which still is our mission. I started researching more about what sustainability means, and that led me to look into having something made locally. That’s because sustainability goes beyond ecofriendly. A sustainable product must also be made in a way that considers people’s well-being. For instance, a product made from low-impact natural materials in a sweatshop is not a sustainable one.

The choice to focus on textile products, specifically bags, was based on the ability to have them made locally, and on the fact that they can substitute a huge amount of plastic that is used in everyone’s daily lives.
I started Rather Green with $4,000. I spent it on a website, fabric and hiring a seamstress to sew the designs I made. I registered the business in mid 2019 and opened the website for orders in April 2020.

Five years in

Since then, production has been brought in. Every single unit of Rather Green products is made in our workshop.
Thousands of bags have already been made and sold to over ten countries.
Over 6,000 trees have also been planted through our Tree Planting initiative.

Re-Play

At Re-Play, we believe in connecting generations through memories made at the dinner table. Over 15 years ago, husband-and-wife duo Craig and Amy Shumway founded Re-Play with a desire to create long-lasting, environmentally aware solutions that help parents worry less about mealtime and focus more on enjoying family time. Our products have evolved over the years, but our mission remains the same: to provide premium tableware at an affordable price while following responsible environmental and social business practices.

Redecker

Founder Friedel Redecker earned his living as a brushmaker because he went blind as a child. His inventiveness, his sense of quality and persistence brought about a company that is selling its natural products world-wide after three generations.

The first handcrafted Redecker brushes were produced in 1935. A lot has changed since then. Today, the name Redecker stands, as it has for many years, for an ideal combination of natural quality, function, and design. It lives from our very own blend of inventiveness, sound craftsmanship, and creativity.

Refillable Products

We have been focusing on reducing single use plastics and slowing down the rate in which we recycle our plastics (since most of it gets shipped overseas to end up in landfills, kind of a gamble hey?!) Bring in your empty mason jars, original packaging, coffee mugs etc and we will fill em up with your favorite products. If we can physically GET product into the container, we're good to go. If ordering online, be sure to select the corresponding size container for us to put it in.

Remede De Marseille

Founded nearly a decade ago, Wild Creek Naturals products combine essential oils from a timeless recipe to form our blend of traditional Marseille remedy oils and the traditional Marseille remedy balm in a blend of 5 classic oils: cloves, lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary and cinnamon bark.

Since 1413, this traditional remedy has been legendary for its purported ability to ward off the plague. From medieval France to the modern world, people have shared this remedy and its many uses with friends and family.

Today, Wild Creek Naturals continues this tradition by combining five best-quality essential oils into two artisanal formulas in small batches: a blend of essential oils and a balm. Both can be used to help with household cleaning, to reduce inflammation, improve health, soothe insect bites, etc.

In 1413. As the bubonic plague decimated France, thieves were arrested for stealing money and jewelry from the dead and victims of the plague, a crime punishable by the stake. The judge offered them clemency for their terrible crimes on the condition that they shared the secret that allowed them to be exposed to the plague without contracting it. The thieves explained that they were perfume makers and spice merchants and that they were out of work because of the closure of France's seaports. They had prepared a special herbal infusion that they applied to their hands, ears, feet. masks and

Temples, and this protected him from infection. As promised, the judge did not burn them alive – but hanged them. Soon after, doctors treating the plague began wearing masks made of absorbent material soaked in "the mixture of thieves" to protect them from the disease.

The "original mixture of thieves" containing vinegar and garlic, was originally known as Marseille Vinegar. This formula was marketed by sellers of medical supplies as the first protective barrier for hundreds of years and has been an element of pestilential prevention against plague since its formulation. The arrival of the modern pharmacopoeia saw this element relegated to the pages of forgotten history. The Marseille remedy is the most traditional concentrated form of the original recipe.

Revol Cares

ABOUT REVOL CARES

a message from ourfounder.

After years of clumsily "dealing” with my period and bleeding through every product I tried, I was sick and tired of spending time and money on products that didn’t work. It felt like life stopped on my period – I was constantly worrying about leaks, checking the clock, and arming myself with backups.

Deciding enough was enough, I put my technical fashion degree to use and set out to develop period underwear that could protect even a heavy bleeder like me all day long. And so Revol Technologies Inc. was born.

Over the past 4 years, I’ve partnered with my husband Mayo to grow the brand from home-made to worldwide. We’ve been thrilled to see how Cares' undies have become life-changing for so many heavy bleeders like me. Now, our next goal is to elevate the experiences of 100 million people with periods and create a space where everyone feels like they can be “Free to Bleed.”

Feel empowered, ditch the stress of leaks and join the REVOLution.

Rocky Mountain Soap Company

There is something to be said about using completely natural ingredients. It is the feeling of nature, of health, of good-for-you and peace of mind. There is something about knowing everything is "from the Earth" that just feels right. That is why these things are the epitome of Rocky.
As the warm weather springs into action, we wanted to take a moment to introduce you a little more to our Natural Standard and our natural ingredients. These are two things that are so important to us, and we wanted to shout it from the rooftops because we truly believe: Nature Is All You Need.

WHAT IS OUR NATURAL STANDARD?

Our Natural Standard is at the core of how we create here at Rocky. We want to be transparent, open and 100% natural with you. Our Natural Standard is more than just a standard, and choosing natural ingredients isn’t a trend for us; it’s a way of life.
One of our overarching values is our commitment to transparency and showing you exactly what is in what we make and the care that goes into crafting it. You know that if you look at the back of any of our products or browse online you'll see that the ingredients are things you can often recognize and almost always can pronounce. From shea butter to lemongrass and everything in between, we are making products that are good for you, often only 10 ingredients at a time.
We also can guarantee everything you get at Rocky is safe.

WHAT ARE NATURAL INGREDIENTS?

Natural ingredients aren't just about choosing things that might be grown in the ground or made from the Earth. There is so much more than that to using only 100% natural ingredients. We need to find natural ingredients that are safe, healthy and can be processed naturally. This is because not everything that is natural is good for your skin or body; take arsenic for instance.

HOW DO WE VET OUR NATURAL INGREDIENTS?

When it comes to our natural ingredients we make sure they are all:
  • Guaranteed to be found in nature and good for you
  • As organic and local as is available
  • Won't be produced or extracted through environmentally harmful processes
  • Won't have harmful impacts on your body

WHY WE USE 10 INGREDIENTS OR LESS:

We create products with a less is more philosophy, meaning we don't use fillers and try to keep the ingredients to 10 or less. Instead of using 1% of something we might use 14%. This means that we can use ingredients that are multi-functional and have great benefits. We saw an increase in how well some products worked with a higher concentration of great carefully crafted ingredients.
We embrace the colourless, the odourless and the natural!

    RUMPL

One of our brand’s core values is to “Look To The Future Responsibly,” and consider that value in every business decision we make. In 2019, we completely redesigned our core line of blankets to use only 100% post-consumer recycled materials. We’re now recycling over 5 million discarded plastic bottles through our supply chain every year. We’re also proud to be a member of 1% For The Planet, which means we donate 1% of all revenue to environmental non-profits. And finally, we’re members of the freshman cohort of brands that are certified Climate Neutral. This means that beginning in 2020, and every year thereafter, we’ll be offsetting 100% of our company’s carbon footprint by purchasing offset credits.

On a surf and ski trip through California, our founders were sleeping in a van, several miles up a dirt road near a secret hot spring. They awoke the next morning in subzero temperatures with a car that wouldn’t start. Far outside of cell reception, and confronted with an impossibly long walk into town, they decided to bundle up in their sleeping bags and drink whiskey while they waited for someone else to show up.

Minutes turned to hours, and in that time the conversation took an unexpected turn to the subject of bedding. Cozy and warm in their sleeping bags, the two acknowledged how much better the materials felt and performed than what was on their beds back home. A resolve was made to create a “sleeping bag blanket” and the idea for the first Rumpl product was born.

Returning from the trip and borrowing a sewing machine, the first Rumpl “Puffy” blankets were hand sewn in a cramped San Francisco apartment. After several months using the blankets, the two realized they had stumbled on to an idea much grander than just a sleeping bag blanket. The materials typically found in everyday blankets hadn’t evolved in hundreds of years—the entire category wasn’t utilizing any of the material innovation that was taking place in apparel, outdoor gear, and activewear. The Rumpl brand was born!

    Standing Spruce

    Standing Spruce

We are an Authentic indigenous wellness company  steeped in traditional teachings,  values, and customs. Plant medicine is an important part of our history and our foundation is built on ancestral knowledge and old world medicine. We believe in in the importance of mother earth for our health and wellbeing. Standing Spruce carries a wide range of wildcrafted products, remedies and skin care ; including : healing face and body oils, balms, sprays and skin toners, as well as botanically infused cold pressed soaps, and Canadian natural essential oils.

As one of the only "indigenous farmers" in our area, I began our journey towards food security with the belief that we could do something meaningful and that there was "a better way" than large scale/commercial farming. Our goal was to provide clean ethical food, honey and crops not only to ourselves, but also to friends, family, and eventually our community. Raising animals  with empathy is of the utmost importance here on the farm. Chickens along with our own honey bees, food, and medicinal garden keep us fairly busy - but above all, happy.

At our farm we have always operated on a zero waste policy, using all aspects of our farm and botanicals in our products including honey which is harvested, and beeswax used by our apothecary in lip balms, remedies, and skin care.

    Stocking Stuffers

Our collection of Holiday Gift Giving ideas that are perfect for Stocking Stuffers, Hostess Gifts, Teachers Gifts and more. Wow your crowd without breaking the bank or damaging our fragile planet. Nothing over $20 makes it easy to give the gift of Eco.

    Suncare

Why choose a natural sunscreen? Oh that's easy...it's twofold actually. Firstly, your skin is your largest organ and absorbs products within 30 seconds of application. I doubt you think it's awesome slathering chemicals onto your body, so sunscreen shouldn't be any different. Drugstore brands are full of synthetic preservatives, fragrances, propellants etc that wreak havoc on our hormones, our organs and have been linked to certain varieties of cancer and other conditions. Secondly, our environment is being bombarded with a staggering amount of reef destroying, fish killing chemicals. Our reefs are being bleached, plant and aquatic animal species are being wiped out at record rates, and it is easily impacted by making better choices.

    Tanit

TANIT BOTANICS, lovingly named after the Carthaginian goddess Tanit, was launched by husband-and-wife who met as students at Polytechnique Montreal for their engineering degrees.

During travels overseas, Zohra (industrial engineer) & Mehdi (chemical engineer) were excited to visit new countries and learn about different cultures. What they didn’t expect was to find such beautiful landscapes completely terrorized by plastic waste.

Already passionate about nature, they made a commitment to use their studies for good. Their vision was to find a way to fuse the comforts and necessities of modern living with the need to protect our most valuable resource — planet Earth.

    Ten and Co.

Established in 2013 by Founder and CEO Christen Irwin, Ten and Co. is home to the original compostable dishcloth, the Swedish Sponge Cloth. Over the last few years, we have expanded our catalogue to include everyday, premium home goods and textiles that stand the test of time in your home, not in our landfills.

Our goal has always been to blur the line between beauty and sustainability, and through our ethical practices from manufacturing to shipping, we have been able to do just that. Small actions change the world, and as leaders in sustainable home goods, we promise to leave nothing but a positive impact on our Earth and believe in simplifying the process so you can do the same.

    tentree

Together, with your support, our store has planted over 36,000 trees!

We create aspirational outside products. For those who identify with the outdoors, but are not defined by them. We motivate and encourage environmental stewardship through earth-first apparel.

tentree is rooted in the belief that we have a responsibility to protect and preserve the world we live in. Buy one, and we'll plant ten. Let's branch out to nature, ten trees at a time.

    Sustainable

Made from sustainable materials. We are transparent about our impact. Feel good, do good.

    Accessible

Inclusive to body types. We're affordable but we don't sacrifice on the quality of our products. We make it easy to wear.

    Comfortable

Cozy materials, designed for function and comfort, fashionable and confident.

As environmentalists our mission is to guide you on your journey and empower you to do your best when it comes to the environment. You don't have to be a hardcore environmentalist to make a difference. It's the little things, like riding your bike to work, bringing your own grocery bag, and buying an item that plants ten trees - they all add up. Especially when millions of other people start doing them too.

We apply the same values of transparency, sustainability and respect for the people who make our clothes as when selecting and managing our planting projects.

Each product tells a story of tentree and its mission: to protect the world we play in. By planting ten trees for every item purchased, we prove to the world that sustainability can and should be as easy as putting on a t-shirt. Our core values drive us to find the best responsibly sourced materials, and the guarantee of safe and respectful work environments. So, by the time your tentree product arrives to you, you know that its journey was defined by the smallest environmental footprint, and made proudly by people treated fairly and with dignity.

    Terrera

    Terrera

    HOW IT BEGAN

Terrera means "Our Time On Earth". It is formed with two words, "terre" meaning earth in French, and "era", meaning period in time.

Our women-led team designs bi-annual collections of easy-to-wear clothing using fine quality natural fibres including bamboo, organic cotton, and Tencel.

We started in 2007 during a time when sustainable sourcing was new in the Canadian fashion industry. Our founders wanted to create environmentally conscious clothing that would fit and flatter all women, and thus, started our predecessor brand "LNBF-Leave Nothing But Footprints". To this day, we are a small but mighty team and we continue to make sustainable clothing and bedding products for everyone. In 2020, our name changed from LNBF to TERRERA to reflect our growth and vision.

    CONSCIOUS PRODUCTION

We believe that our purpose is to love one another and our earth that we call home.

We care for everyone involved with producing our clothing from the farms, to the mills, to the factories. We seek to build long-term relationships with our partners so that we can grow together and sustain the livelihoods of all peoples. All of our overseas factory partners in China are audited to ensure that they exceed national standards for health and safety, workplace conditions and workers’ protection. Once the pieces are ready, we slowly ship them by sea to Canada to reduce our ecological footprint.

    EARTH-FRIENDLY FIBRES

We believe that earth is a gift, given to us to be cherished.

We use textiles that are more sustainable than conventional counterparts. In all our products, we include certified organic bamboo and/or organic cotton in our fabrications. All of our clothing and home products, including every thread, button, stitching, and fabric dyes are free of harmful substances and have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. We are continually sourcing other earth-friendly fabrications to introduce to our brand.

    The BARE Home

Fundamentally, sustainable living is about the intersection between our natural lives and our built lives. Between what grew and what was made. Finding the balance between what is needed and what is wanted.

Sustainable living is not a question of doing without — a constraint or compromise. Nor is it an assertion that packaging is the line between good and evil, or the alarm bell for your conscience. It’s really about the dial. Dialing the balance back from pack-aged to loose, or processed to raw, or manufactured to natural — to suit your life.

Having control over the dial without compromise. And feeling confident that in this case, the case of what you choose to purchase for you and your home, that the dial controls the music before it’s made.

    The Unscented Company

"I launched The Unscented Company in 2016, a complete line of unscented home and body care on two founding principles. Firstly, we redefine the notion of clean by offering exclusively unscented all natural products. We believe powerful cleaning can be free of fragrances and we could all be better for it. Secondly, we design our packaging for conscious living by allowing our customers the ability to refill their bottles either at home or in-store. A significant reduction of our collective plastic footprint.

Our commitment goes beyond products and packaging. We are a Certified B Corporation, a growing community of more than 2000 companies working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business. We aspire to meet the highest standards of verified performance, transparency, and accountability, taking into account workers, our local community and the environment."

-Anie Rouleau - Founder and CEO

  • Whenever possible (about 95–99% of the time), we work with local Canadian, privately owned and family-run businesses. It’s a great way to keep close relationships with our suppliers and work in collaboration to enhance local economic development and prosperity.
  • For full transparency, we evaluate each new important supplier with an in-depth questionnaire divided into four sections: Product & Sustainability, Environment, Workers and Governance.
  • Our take-home bulk options and in-store refill stations greatly reduce packaging needs. Bulk buying removes thousands of plastic bottles from circulation each year and represents a positive impact on the environmental and economic costs of added cardboard, transportation, manufacturing, and end-of-life management!

When it comes to product packaging, our approach is reduction and eco-design at the source. We are constantly rethinking our designs and working with our suppliers towards that goal. Up to now, we have managed to:

    1. Include 25% of post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) in our Laundry Soap Bottle.

    2. Switch from a 4L plastic jug to a 4L Refill bag-in-a-box for our Laundry, Hand and Dish Soaps, reducing plastic use by at least 80%!

    3. Provide only BPA-free bottles.

    4. Use an innovative Omnidegradable® (compostable) bag for our Dish Tabs.

    5. Use easily recyclable plastics, such as HDPE #2, for all our bottles.

    Tiny Teethers

Tiny Teethers was established soon after the birth of my first son in 2013. He was always grabbing at whatever he could put in his mouth, so I went looking for a safe necklace I could wear, and he could teethe on.  He was three months old, always in my arms and nursing, so a necklace that was both attractive and functional was especially important. I was pleased to find what I was looking for but less pleased at the price point, knowing that I was only going to be using it a short time. At the same time, as a jewellery designer, the opportunity to solve this problem piqued my interest.

Seven years later, Tiny Teethers has become a recognized and trusted teething brand in Canada. We have been leaders in innovation with our pacifier clip. We designed an all silicone and plastic clip with few moving parts that is a safer alternative to wood or metal. In 2020 we won a Family Choice Award for our pacifier clip and a Parent and Baby award for the most innovative teething company. We are also working on implementing a nation wide silicone recycling program, because while we love silicone and the benefits over plastic, we need to be responsible and recognize the life cycle of all our products.

From our California headquarters to our storefronts across the country, we do our part to be good neighbors everywhere you find the Toad. You’ll find us volunteering with local non-profits and creating opportunities for adults with disabilities. You’ll find our name signed on petitions to support carbon caps, reduce fossil fuels and keep public lands public. We’re a bunch of dreamers and mountain movers, preaching the gospel of sustainability and spontaneity – because every day is an adventure.

In 2018 we reduced our emissions by 51 tons of C02, enough to drive 150,000 miles. We achieved this by using organic cotton, recycled fibers, and other high-quality materials known for low-impact growing and clean manufacturing. Sustainable materials make a world of difference.

    Truly

"Doing my skincare routine has always been a way for me to feel most like myself. It has a way of giving me immense confidence, making me feel like I can accomplish anything. I've always been entrepreneurial, but it wasn't until late 2018 where I had my 'lightbulb moment'. "Why don't I start a skincare company?". I had tried EVERYTHING under the sun and I knew what worked and what didn't. It was the thing I was most passionate about. That December night, I told my boyfriend "I'm going to start a skincare company" and got to work that very same night on my coffee table."
